Looks At The Road Ahead To Maximize Efficiency

The Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Hybrid System is a new system that uses sensors to look at the road ahead and optimize the use of the gas engine and battery. By automatically switching between electric and gas power, the system can improve fuel economy by up to 10 percent compared to a conventional gasoline engine.

In addition to fuel savings, the system also provides other benefits. For example, the electric motor can be used to boost acceleration, providing up to an extra 80 horsepower when needed. The system can also automatically shut off the gas engine when it is not needed, reducing emissions and noise.

The Intelligent Hybrid System is currently available on the S-Class, E-Class, and CLS-Class. It will soon be available on other Mercedes-Benz models.
