Mercedes-Benz has unveiled two new electric trucks that are specifically designed for construction site applications. The new trucks, which are based on the Mercedes-Benz Atego and the Mercedes-Benz Actros, are called the Atego Electric and the Actros Electric.
The Atego Electric has a maximum range of up to 150 km (93 miles) and a maximum payload of 12 tonnes (13 tons). The Actros Electric has a maximum range of up to 200 km (124 miles) and a maximum payload of 20 tonnes (22 tons).
Both trucks are equipped with onboard chargers and can be charged using a standard 240-volt socket. The trucks can also be fitted with optional fast chargers, which allow them to be fully charged in as little as two hours.
The Atego Electric and Actros Electric will start production in 2019.
