Elon Musk Bio

Elon Musk is a South African-born American entrepreneur, investor, and engineer. He is the founder, CEO, and lead designer of SpaceX; co-founder, CEO, and product architect of Tesla, Inc.; and co-founder and CEO of Neuralink and The Boring Company.

Musk was born on June 28, 1971, in Pretoria, South Africa. He moved to the United States in 1995 to attend the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned bachelor's degrees in economics and physics. He then went on to pursue graduate studies in physics at Stanford University but dropped out after just two days to start his own company.

Musk co-founded Zip2, a web software company, in 1995, which he sold for $307 million in 1999. He then founded X.com, an online payment company that later became PayPal, which was sold to eBay for $1.5 billion in 2002.

Musk is perhaps best known for his work at SpaceX and Tesla. SpaceX designs and manufactures rockets and spacecraft with the goal of enabling human life on Mars. Tesla produces electric cars, energy storage systems, and solar products, with a mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.

Musk has been involved in a number of other ventures, including the creation of Hyperloop, a high-speed transportation system, and Neuralink, a company focused on developing advanced neural interfaces. He is also known for his work in promoting renewable energy and addressing climate change.
