Swedish startup Candela has developed a new type of electric boat that it claims can reduce energy consumption by up to 80%.

The Candela Seven is a hydrofoil boat, which means it has wings that lift it out of the water at high speeds. This reduces drag and makes the boat much more efficient than traditional boats.

The Candela Seven can reach speeds of up to 25 knots (29 mph), and has a range of 50 nautical miles. The company says that the boat can be used for a variety of applications, including recreation, commuting, and even commercial shipping.

The Candela Seven is currently being crowdfunded on Kickstarter, and is expected to begin shipping in 2019. Prices start at $195,000.
