In an effort to encourage more people to drive electric vehicles, Drive Energi is partnering with Greene King Pubs to deploy fast charging points at select locations.
As part of the partnership, Drive Energi will install its “RapidCharge” system, which offers 50 kilowatts of power and can charge a vehicle in as little as 30 minutes. The fast chargers will be available to the public at no charge.
“We are delighted to be working with Drive Energi to install rapid chargers at our pubs,” said Greene King CEO Nick Mackenzie. “As a company, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and this partnership will help us move closer to our goal of being a net-zero carbon business by 2050. We hope that by providing this convenient and free service to our customers, we can play a small part in making electric vehicles more popular.”
To date, Drive Energi has installed over 1,000 rapid chargers across the UK, including at locations such as supermarkets, service stations, and workplaces. The company plans to deploy an additional 1,000 chargers by the end of 2019.
