Jack Ma Bio

Jack Ma is a Chinese business magnate, investor, and philanthropist, who is best known as the co-founder and former executive chairman of Alibaba Group, one of the world's largest e-commerce companies. He was born on September 10, 1964, in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China.

Ma started his career as an English teacher and later founded an English-language school in Hangzhou. In 1999, he co-founded Alibaba Group with a group of friends and colleagues, including Joseph Tsai and Peng Lei. The company initially started as a business-to-business marketplace, but later expanded to include other e-commerce platforms such as Taobao and Tmall.

Under Ma's leadership, Alibaba grew into a global e-commerce giant, with operations in more than 200 countries and regions. Ma also became one of China's wealthiest individuals and a leading figure in the country's technology industry.

In addition to his work at Alibaba, Ma has also been involved in a number of other ventures, including the creation of Ant Group, a financial technology company, and the establishment of the Jack Ma Foundation, which focuses on education, environmental protection, and public health.

Ma retired from his position as executive chairman of Alibaba Group in 2019, but remains involved in a number of philanthropic and entrepreneurial pursuits.
