The Fisker Karma has been named Top Gear's car of the year for 2012. The all-electric luxury sedan beat out some stiff competition to claim the title, including the Tesla Model S and the BMW i8.

What made the Fisker Karma stand out from the other cars? Here are some of the things that the Top Gear judges said:

  • The design: "The Karma is a beautifully proportioned car. It's long, low and sleek, with a lovely cabin that feels both modern and luxurious."
  • The performance: "With two electric motors providing a combined 403bhp, the Karma is no slouch. It'll do 0-60mph in 6.3 seconds and has a top speed of 125mph."
  • The range: "With a full charge, the Karma will do around 300 miles. That's not as good as a Tesla Model S, but it's still impressive."

So there you have it, the Fisker Karma is Top Gear's car of the year for 2012. If you're in the market for a luxury all-electric sedan, it looks like this is the one to go for.
