The long-awaited showdown is finally here
It's been a long time coming, but the much-anticipated showdown between Tesla's Autopilot and Cadillac's Super Cruise is finally here. Which one is the best hands-free driving system?
To find out, we put both systems to the test on a cross-country road trip. Here's how they stacked up:
- Ease of use: Both systems are very easy to use. With Cadillac's system, you just need to hold down a button on the steering wheel for a few seconds to activate it. With Tesla's system, you need to enable it through the settings menu on the touch screen. Once it's enabled, you just need to keep your hands on the wheel and the car will do the rest.
- Performance: Both systems performed well, but we have to give the edge to Tesla's Autopilot. Cadillac's system had a few hiccups, such as not being able to stay in its lane on curvy roads. Tesla's system, on the other hand, was spot-on.
- Safety: Both systems are very safe, but Cadillac's system has a few extra features that give it the edge. For example, if you take your hands off the wheel for too long, the system will give you a visual and auditory warning. If you don't respond, it will slowly bring the car to a stop. Tesla's system will also give you a warning if you take your hands off the wheel, but it won't stop the car.
So, there you have it. The winner of this showdown is Tesla's Autopilot. But Cadillac's Super Cruise is a close second.
