Sensata Technologies has announced the launch of its new line of junction boxes for electric vehicle (EV) charging applications. The new boxes support up to 850 volts (V) and 1,300 milliamps (A), which is significantly higher than the 400V/63A used in most charging applications today. The new boxes also support a wider range of power cable types, including those with four, five, and six cores.
Junction boxes are used to protect and route high-voltage power cables in EV charging applications. They are typically installed between the EV charger and the power outlet, and provide protection against water, dust, and other contaminants.
The new line of junction boxes from Sensata is rated for up to 851V and 1,302A, making it suitable for use with the latest high-voltage EV chargers. The boxes are available in two sizes: a small size that supports up to four core power cables, and a larger size that supports up to six core power cables.
The new junction boxes from Sensata are UL-listed, and come with a five-year warranty. For more information, visit the Sensata website.
