Anant Ambani Completes His 170-Km Long Padyatra at Dwarkadhish Temple
Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, has concluded a 170-kilometre long padyatra to the revered Dwarkadhish Temple in Gujarat, drawing attention for both his spiritual devotion and endurance.
This arduous journey on foot began several days ago, showcasing a rare personal and religious commitment from one of India’s most prominent business families. Walking over 170 kilometres through towns and villages, Anant paid homage to Lord Krishna with deep reverence, culminating his pilgrimage at the ancient temple dedicated to the deity in the city of Dwarka.
The padyatra is believed to have been inspired by a spiritual vow taken ahead of his upcoming wedding to Radhika Merchant, symbolizing humility, faith, and gratitude. Such long pilgrimages are part of ancient Indian tradition, often undertaken as acts of devotion, penance, or thanksgiving.
Throughout the journey, Anant was greeted by devotees, local residents, and well-wishers. His arrival at the temple was marked by a traditional welcome, including the playing of shankha (conch) and vedic chants. He also offered special prayers at the sanctum of Dwarkadhish, an important site for Vaishnavite Hindus and one of the Char Dham pilgrimage destinations.
While the Ambani family is widely recognized for its wealth and business empire, this gesture from Anant has been praised as a rare blend of spirituality and humility, particularly in an age of rising materialism.
His padyatra not only reflects personal devotion but also highlights the significance of cultural and religious values being upheld across generations, even among India’s most modern and influential families.
