In a world chasing desk jobs and stable paychecks, Vijay Pratap Singh decided to walk a different trail—literally. At the age of 23, he left his well-paying banking job and moved to the Himalayas. What started as a personal quest for meaning in the mountains soon evolved into ‘AdvenThrill’, a Rs 10 crore trekking company that’s redefining India’s adventure tourism landscape.

From Boardrooms to Basecamps

Fresh out of college with a banking job in hand, Vijay quickly realised that the cubicle life wasn’t for him. He found himself yearning for the freedom, challenge, and raw beauty of the outdoors. “I wasn’t meant to be in a suit behind a desk,” he says. So he packed up, headed to Uttarakhand, and immersed himself in mountaineering courses, survival skills, and the rhythms of life above 10,000 feet.

His passion turned into purpose when he noticed glaring safety gaps and mismanagement in many Indian trekking tours. That’s when the seed of AdvenThrill was sown.

Building AdvenThrill: Safety Meets Sustainability

Launched in 2018 with just three guides and two treks, AdvenThrill has grown into a pan-Himalayan enterprise with over 50 full-time team members, trained professionals, certified guides, and medics. The company conducts treks across Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Arunachal, and Ladakh, handling more than 20,000 trekkers annually.

What sets AdvenThrill apart is its uncompromising focus on safety, eco-conscious trekking, and community employment. Every trek is planned with backup systems, emergency protocols, and weather intelligence. They also train and employ locals as on-ground experts, ensuring tourism benefits the region directly.

Mapping Untouched Trails

Beyond the popular treks like Kedarkantha and Hampta Pass, Vijay and his team have worked with forest departments and local villagers to map lesser-known trails, turning hidden gems into bucket-list adventures. These include trails in the Zanskar valley, Panpatia glacier route, and remote Sikkimese ridges that barely see any footfall.

Each new trail is documented with GPS mapping, environmental risk assessments, and rescue infrastructure before being opened up to tourists.

A Rs 10 Crore Climb—With No Looking Down

Today, AdvenThrill clocks an annual revenue of over Rs 10 crore, and is eyeing global expansion with plans to conduct international expeditions in the Alps and Andes. The company also runs certified trekking schools and youth camps, inspiring the next generation of adventurers.

But for Vijay, it’s not just about numbers. “We are in the business of building life-changing experiences,” he says. “People come for a trek, but they return with clarity, courage, and connection.”

Lessons from the Summit

Vijay’s journey is proof that sometimes the most rewarding paths aren’t marked on any map. From leaving comfort zones to conquering actual mountains, his story echoes with grit, passion, and a deep respect for nature.

He’s not just leading treks—he’s leading a movement to make Indian trekking professional, responsible, and globally competitive.
