National Holidays: Gandhi Jayanti & Dussehra
Today, India celebrates two significant occasions: Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra.

Gandhi Jayanti marks the 156th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. Observed as a national holiday across India, it honors Gandhi’s unwavering commitment to non-violence (Ahimsa) and truth (Satya). Alongside Gandhi Jayanti, Dussehra, one of India’s major festivals, is also celebrated today. It symbolizes the victory of good over evil, commemorating Lord Rama’s triumph over Ravana in the epic Ramayana.
