Trojan Energy, a U.K.-based electric vehicle charging company, has landed £4.1 million in new funding to support the rollout of its on-street charging solution.
The new funding comes from the European Regional Development Fund and will be used to install up to 200 new public charge points across the country.
Trojan's on-street solution is designed for installation in areas where there is limited space for on-site charging infrastructure.
The company has already installed a number of its on-street chargers in the London borough of Islington and plans to expand its rollout to other parts of the city in the coming months.
"This latest funding will enable us to roll out our on-street charging solution to even more locations across the UK, making it easier for drivers of electric vehicles to keep their cars charged and on the road," said Trojan Energy CEO Andrew Daley in a statement.
"We are committed to helping accelerate the transition to electric vehicles and this funding will enable us to play our part in that."
