Solid Power, a manufacturer of all-solid-state batteries, says its technology is safer than current chemistries on the market.

The company has been testing its batteries under extreme conditions and has found that they are much more resistant to fire and explosions than lithium-ion batteries.

Solid Power says its batteries can withstand temperatures of up to 1,000 degrees Celsius (1,832 degrees Fahrenheit) without igniting. They are also not susceptible to the thermal runaway reactions that can cause lithium-ion batteries to catch fire.

The company's batteries are made with a solid electrolyte instead of a liquid one. This makes them more stable and less likely to leak or catch fire.

Solid Power is not the only company working on solid-state batteries. Others, such as Toyota and Samsung, are also researching the technology.

Solid-state batteries have the potential to revolutionize the electric vehicle industry. They are lighter, more efficient, and have a longer lifespan than lithium-ion batteries.

If Solid Power's batteries can live up to their promise, they could make electric vehicles even safer and more reliable than they are today.
