Hydro Quebec, the largest electric utility in Canada, has announced plans to deploy 1600 fast-charging stations for electric vehicles over the next 10 years. This is part of the company's strategy to support the increasing number of EVs on the roads, and to promote the use of renewable energy in the transportation sector.
The charging stations will be located across the province of Quebec, and will be available to both EV owners and the general public. They will offer fast-charging services for all types of EVs, including those with Tesla's Supercharger technology.
Hydro Quebec's investment in EV infrastructure is part of the company's commitment to supporting the electrification of the transportation sector. In addition to the fast-charging stations, Hydro Quebec is also working on developing a network of home and office chargers, as well as working with businesses to install EV chargers at their locations.
The company plans to have all of the fast-charging stations operational by 2025, and says that the deployment of the infrastructure will create jobs in the construction and installation industries.
