In an effort to reduce its carbon footprint, Domino's Pizza is rolling out a nationwide fleet of 800 Chevy Bolts. The all-electric cars will be used to deliver pizzas to Domino's customers across the United States.
The move is part of Domino's ongoing efforts to become more environmentally friendly. In addition to the Bolts, the pizza chain has also used hybrid and electric vehicles to deliver pizzas in Europe and Australia.
"We're always looking for ways to reduce our environmental impact, and using electric vehicles is a great way to do that," said Domino's CEO Patrick Doyle.
The Chevy Bolts will be equipped with Domino's new Remote Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. The system will allow customers to track their pizza's progress from the moment it's ordered to the moment it's delivered.
"Our customers want to know that their pizza is on its way, and they want to be able to track its progress," said Doyle. "The Remote CRM system will allow them to do that, and it will also allow us to keep an eye on our drivers to make sure they're driving safely."
The Bolts will also be equipped with Domino's new pizza delivery bag, which is designed to keep pizzas hot and fresh during delivery.
"We're always looking for ways to improve the pizza delivery experience for our customers, and we think the Bolt and the new delivery bag will do just that," said Doyle.
