Our goal

WhatsApp was launched as an alternative to SMS. Our product currently provides support for exchanging many types of media, including text, photos, videos, documents and location, as well as voice calls. Some of your most memorable moments are shared on WhatsApp. That's why we've built end-to-end security into our apps. Our strong desire to enable people across the world to communicate seamlessly is at the core of our decision to create every product.

Our squad

WhatsApp was founded by Yan Kum and Brian Acton. Before that, both worked together at Yahoo for 20 years. WhatsApp joined Facebook in 2014, and today it operates as a separate app with the goal of developing a fast and reliable messaging service around the world.
