Doria by Karishma Dagal – Where Tradition Meets Timeless Modernity
Rajasthan has long been known for its vibrant colours, intricate handwork, and timeless crafts. From the tiny knots of Bandhej to the flowing waves of Leheriya and the precision of hand block printing, every design tells a story of patience, beauty, and heritage. These art forms have shaped Rajasthan’s cultural identity for centuries — and now, through Doria, they are finding a fresh and modern expression.
Founded by Karishma Dagal, Doria is a Jaipur-based, women-led fashion brand that reimagines traditional Indian crafts for today’s generation. The idea was simple — to make handcrafted fashion that feels elegant, comfortable, and easy to wear every day. “I wanted to create outfits that celebrate our roots yet fit effortlessly into modern life,” says Karishma. “Something that feels authentic but also real.”
At Doria, every outfit begins with a traditional art form — hand block prints, Bandhej, Leheriya, or mirror detailing — and is transformed into something contemporary. The brand offers a thoughtfully designed range of Indo-Western co-ord sets, jumpsuits, sarees, suits, and lehengas, each made with breathable fabrics and refined craftsmanship. Every piece brings together the comfort of modern clothing and the richness of Indian textile heritage.
Karishma’s inspiration for Doria came from home. Her mother used to design sarees and lehengas — picking fabrics, choosing prints, and getting them stitched by local tailors. “She had an incredible eye for design,” Karishma recalls. “Even without formal training, she understood how colours, textures, and borders could come together beautifully. Watching her sparked my love for Indian crafts.”
That early influence became Doria’s foundation — a commitment to keeping traditional art forms alive by giving them a modern voice. Each collection reflects that balance: heritage prints reimagined into easy, wearable silhouettes that feel elegant without being extravagant.
Every garment is made in Rajasthan by local artisans who hand-tie, dye, and print each piece using age-old techniques. The process remains slow and personal — filled with skill and emotion. For many of these artisans, Doria provides not just livelihood but recognition. “They are the heart of what we do,” Karishma says. “Their hands bring every design to life.”
What makes Doria stand out is its effortless fusion of tradition and ease. A Bandhej print might appear on a modern jumpsuit, a Leheriya wave on a breezy co-ord set, or a classic hand-block pattern on a flowy saree or festive lehenga. The result is clothing that feels fresh yet familiar — deeply rooted in India, yet made for the world.
Doria’s approach is also consciously sustainable. The brand focuses on small-batch production, handcrafted processes, and timeless design. “We don’t believe in making hundreds of the same outfit,” Karishma explains. “Every piece is made carefully — and that’s what gives it value. When you wear something handmade, you carry someone’s effort, time, and story with you.”
Over time, Doria has grown from a small idea into a label that represents Rajasthan’s evolving spirit — strong, artistic, and full of colour. For Karishma, every collection is a reminder of where it all started. “I often think of my mother discussing designs with tailors, explaining every detail with excitement,” she smiles. “Doria carries that same emotion forward — just in a new form.”
Today, Doria’s creations are loved by women across generations — professionals, students, and brides — who appreciate both comfort and craftsmanship. Each piece tells a story of artistry, culture, and heart.
As Karishma puts it simply, “Doria is about bringing our heritage into today’s wardrobe — so you can wear tradition, not just preserve it.”
