A trade delegation from Ghana held a Trade Summit in Hyderabad on 7th April, 2023. The delegates highlighted the advantages of investing in Ghana, including the country's peaceful environment, one district one factory offer and tax holidays. They also discussed the potential for collaboration between India and Ghana in areas such as agriculture, digital technology, hydrocarbons, and industrial minerals. The summit was attended by top bureaucrats from both countries, with Minister Mohammed Ali representing the Telangana state government.
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the World Bank have jointly issued the Delhi Declaration on Modernisation of Agricultural Education System to strengthen India's agriculture education sector. Multidisciplinary technology-facilitated education should be promoted and the policies on Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture and Mathematics (STEAM) in agricultural higher education need to be transformed. The Conference was held as part of the National Agricultural Higher Education Project’s (NAHEP) Resilient Agricultural Education System (RAES) development initiative. NAHEP is a five-year project initiated in 2018 with equal contribution of $82.5 million each from the World Bank and the central government. The purpose of NAHEP is to transform agricultural higher education. The World Bank loan is to be repaid over 19 years after a grace period of five years.
The International Conference on Blended Learning Ecosystem for Higher Education in Agriculture 2023 was hosted jointly by The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the World Bank as part of the National Agricultural Higher Education Project’s (NAHEP) Resilient Agricultural Education System (RAES) development initiative. A Blended Learning Platform focused on improving Digital Infrastructure across Agricultural Higher Education Institutions (A-HEIs) was unveiled to strengthen deployment of immersive technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR)/Virtual Reality (VR) Experiences and Virtual Classrooms. About 1,000 students and 450 faculty members have completed international training at 89 institutes in 27 countries in 160 subjects under NAHEP till date. Addressing the Conference, Chief Guest Hon'ble Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shri Narendra Singh Tomar said that blended learning and agricultural sector will help India in becoming a developed nation status by 2047. The 3-day conference is being organized around thematic areas to identify the best strategies in blended teaching and learning.
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the World Bank are hosting the first International Conference on Blended Learning Ecosystem for Higher Education in Agriculture. The three-day event will be held from March 21-23 in New Delhi and will be inaugurated by Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. The aim of this conference is to facilitate the development of a global ecosystem of partners for the National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP), which was proposed on a 5050 cost sharing basis between the World Bank and the Government of India. It will also help in establishing synergies with flagship programs such as Digital India and Skill India to accelerate deployment of Resilient Agricultural Education System (RAES).
