In 2018, Polestar unveiled the Polestar 1, its first car under its own brand. The Polestar 1 is a high-performance hybrid electric vehicle with a range of150 miles on electric power alone.
Now, Polestar is making the next step in its journey with the unveiling of the Polestar 2, an all-electric car with a range of 275 miles. The Polestar 2 is a 5-door fastback with a starting price of $59,900.
The Polestar 2's all-electric powertrain consists of two electric motors, one on each axle, that produce a combined 408 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque. The car has a 0-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 100 mph.
The Polestar 2 is also packed with features that are designed to appeal to buyers of luxury cars, including a massive 11-inch touchscreen display, heated front and rear seats, and a Harman Kardon sound system.
The car will be available for order in select markets starting in February 2019, with first deliveries expected in early 2020.
