loop Energy, a Canadian fuel-cell technology company, has been selected by Rheintal Elektrofahrzeuge GmbH (REF), an electric-vehicle manufacturer in Switzerland, to provide fuel-cell range extenders for its electric trucks.

This is a significant win for loop Energy, as it expands its presence in the European market and takes another step towards becoming a leading supplier of fuel-cell range extenders for electric vehicles.

The fuel-cell range extenders will be used in REF's electric trucks to extend their range and enable them to operate for longer periods of time without needing to be recharged.

loop Energy's fuel-cell range extenders are powered by hydrogen, which is a clean and renewable energy source.

This is an important contract for us as we continue to execute on our strategy to become a leading supplier of fuel-cell range extenders for electric vehicles," saidLoop Energy CEO, Jonathan Crystal.

"We are honoured to be working with REF, a pioneer in the development of electric trucks, and we look forward to helping them to realise the full potential of their vehicles."

"loop Energy's fuel-cell range extenders will enable us to extend the range of our electric trucks and operate them for longer periods of time without needing to be recharged," said RET CEO, Daniel Schaerer.

"This is an important step in our journey to develop the world's most efficient and sustainable electric trucks."

loop Energy's fuel-cell range extenders are already being used in a number of electric vehicles, including buses, trucks, and cars, in North America and Europe.

The company has a number of other major contracts in place with leading electric-vehicle manufacturers, including Proterra, BYD, and New Flyer.
