Greenpower Motor Company Inc. (TSXV: GPV) (OTCQB:GPVRF) ("Greenpower"), a leading designer and manufacturer of zero-emission battery-electric vehicles, is pleased to announce that it has received two purchase vouchers from incentive programs in California and New Jersey totaling US$360,000.
The California Air Resources Board's (CARB) Innovative Clean Transit (ICT) program provides funding to public and private fleets to purchase or lease zero-emission and near-zero-emission transit buses and trains. Greenpower has been awarded US$225,000 to be used towards the purchase of one of its battery-electric K45 Equinox trucks. Deliveries are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2019.
The New Jersey Transit Corporation's (NJ Transit) Zero Emission Bus Pilot Program is awarding Greenpower US$135,000 towards the purchase of a second K45 Equinox. This pilot program is part of New Jersey's goal to have 3,000 zero emission buses on the road by 2025. Deliveries are also expected in the fourth quarter of 2019.
"We are honored to receive these purchase vouchers from two highly respected incentive programs," said Daryl Anderson, President and CEO of Greenpower. "The awards speak to the quality of our products and our ability to provide leading edge technology that meets the needs of both the transit market and the demanding incentives landscape. We believe that these voucher programs open up new market potential for Greenpower, and we look forward to participating in more of them in the future."
