Tevva, an electric truck maker based in the UK, has announced that it is adding lease and purchase options to its subscription service.
The subscription service, which launched in August 2018, offers customers the use of a Tevva truck for a monthly fee, with the option to return the truck at the end of the term or purchase it outright.
Now, customers will also be able to lease a Tevva truck for a period of up to 36 months, with the option to purchase the truck at the end of the lease.
Tevva CEO Josh Whale said that the new lease and purchase options are designed to give customers more flexibility in how they use and own a Tevva truck.
"This is about providing customers with more choice and flexibility in how they use and own an electric truck," he said. "We're confident that this will be popular with both businesses and individuals who want to switch to electric but may not be able to commit to a purchase."
The lease option is available on all of Tevva's trucks, including the 7.5-tonne T-Series and the 3.5-tonne C-Series.
Tevva says that its trucks can save customers up to 40% on running costs compared to traditional diesel trucks, and that they have a range of up to 160 miles on a single charge.
