As of early October, Blue Bird has delivered or has firm orders for 400 electric school buses, the vast majority of which are electric Type C buses with 84-88'' passenger compartment height.
Of the 400 buses, 353 are electric Type C buses and 47 are electric Type D buses. The electric Type C buses have been delivered to 23 states and the District of Columbia in the United States, as well as to school districts and operators in Canada and Mexico. The electric Type D buses have been delivered to school districts in California and Utah in the United States.
The company's first electric school bus was delivered in January 2017, and the company has since delivered or has firm orders for 400 electric school buses, the vast majority of which are electric Type C buses with 84-88'' passenger compartment height.
Blue Bird offers two electric school bus models, the electric Type C All American Rear Engine (AE) and the electric Type D All American Forward Engine (FE) bus. The electric Type C bus is also available in a propane-fueled version and a compressed natural gas-fueled version.
