Autonomy, a ride-hailing company, plans to add 2,500 Vinfast electric vehicles to its fleet by 2025. This is part of the company's goal to have all of its vehicles be electric by 2025.
The Vinfast electric vehicles will be used for both Autonomy's ride-hailing and car-sharing services. The cars will be manufactured by Vinfast, a Vietnamese company that is a subsidiary of Vingroup, a conglomerate.
This is not the first time that Autonomy has ordered electric vehicles from Vinfast. In 2019, the company ordered 100 Vinfast electric vehicles for its car-sharing service in Ho Chi Minh City.
Autonomy's goal of having all of its vehicles be electric by 2025 is in line with the Vietnamese government's goal of having 30% of all vehicles be electric by 2030.
Vinfast is also working on other types of vehicles, such as electric scooters and motorcycles. The company plans to launch its first electric scooter in 2020.
