Paris and San Francisco - October 8, 2019 - Schneider Electric, the global specialist in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, today announced the acquisition of EV Connect, a pioneer and leader in electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions. The move accelerates Schneider Electric’s strategy to provide comprehensive solutions that make EV adoption more seamless, reliable and cost-effective.

With over 6,000 customers and a network of 15,000 charging stations across North America, EV Connect is the largest provider of cloud-based EV charging solutions. The company’s SaaS platform integrates with diverse back-end systems, providing a single user interface for managing all types of EV charging equipment and locations. Its solutions are designed to optimize equipment performance, manage capacity and demand, and simplify billing and payments.

Jaime Giraldo, Chief Product Officer and Executive Vice President, Digital Grid, Schneider Electric, said: “The transportation sector is undergoing a profound transformation as we move to a decarbonized, electrified future. Schneider Electric is proud to be at the forefront of this transition, and the acquisition of EV Connect is a key part of our strategy to provide end-to-end solutions that make EV adoption more seamless, reliable and affordable. We look forward to welcoming the EV Connect team to Schneider Electric and to jointly accelerate the deployment of EV charging solutions around the world.”

Charging infrastructure is a critical enabler of mass EV adoption, and the market is expected to grow rapidly in the coming years. Schneider Electric’s EV solutions will range from residential wall chargers to commercial and industrial solutions, including electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) management and control, energy storage, grid services, and electric vehicle to grid (V2G) integration. The company’s comprehensive EV solutions will help customers manage the challenges of electric mobility, such as range anxiety, scarce charging resources, and the need for grid stability and resilience.

Matt Hardy, CEO, EV Connect, said: “We are thrilled to join Schneider Electric, a company with a long history of innovation and a shared commitment to sustainability. With Schneider Electric’s global reach and expertise, we will be able to accelerate the deployment of EV charging solutions and help our customers manage the transition to electric mobility.”
