The New Scale Idriver
Power Integrations has announced the launch of its new Scale Idriver gate driver. The new driver is designed to improve the efficiency of power converters by reducing losses in the device.
The new driver is a successor to the previous generation of Scale Idriver, which was launched in 2013. The new driver has been designed to improve upon the performance of the previous generation, by reducing the on-resistance losses. The new driver also features a new gate-turn-off (GTO) architecture, which reduces the turn-on losses.
The new driver is available in a compact 8-pin SOIC package, and is compatible with a wide range of power devices, including MOSFETs, IGBTs, andthyristors.
Power Integrations has also announced that the new Scale Idriver will be available in a kit form, which includes the gate driver, a power MOSFET, and a gate-turn-off thyristor.
Features of the New Scale Idriver
The new Scale Idriver gate driver has the following features:
- Reduced on-resistance losses: The new driver has been designed to reduce the on-resistance losses by 30%.
- New GTO architecture: The new driver features a new gate-turn-off (GTO) architecture, which reduces the turn-on losses.
- Compact 8-pin SOIC package: The new driver is available in a compact 8-pin SOIC package.
- Compatible with a wide range of power devices: The new driver is compatible with a wide range of power devices, including MOSFETs, IGBTs, and thyristors.
Availability
The new Scale Idriver gate driver is available now in a kit form, which includes the gate driver, a power MOSFET, and a gate-turn-off thyristor.
