Lord Rama's Delicacies
Throughout India, Lord Rama is commonly offered a dessert called kheer. It's made by mixing rice with milk. Kheer is loved by all deities. Another offering is halwa, a sweet dish. You can also present Lord Rama with kheer made with sabudana (sago) or along with fox nuts (makhana).
Southern Delights
In South India, Lord Rama is offered kosambari and panakam. These offerings are typically prepared on Rama Navami and distributed as prasadam. Kosambari is a tasty salad, while panakam is a refreshing drink. They add a delightful touch, especially during the heat.
Andhra Pradesh Tradition
In Andhra Pradesh, the traditional offering to Lord Rama is chalimidi. Chalimidi is a delicious treat that can be enjoyed as prasadam after being offered to Lord Rama. It's a kind of laddu made from rice, coconut, ghee, jaggery, and cardamom.
Tamil Nadu's Neer Mor
Neer mor is a buttermilk-like drink. In Tamil Nadu, Lord Rama is offered neer mor as prasadam. Neer mor is made by mixing cool water with yogurt, along with green chili, ginger, cumin powder, black salt, asafoetida, and chaat masala. To enhance the flavor, curry leaves and mint can also be added.
