Every year, thousands of Olive Ridley turtles return to India’s shores to lay their eggs. However, their survival is constantly threatened by coastal development, fishing nets, and pollution. For the past 36 years, a passionate group of volunteers has been working tirelessly to ensure these vulnerable creatures get a fighting chance at life.

A Mission Born Out of Passion

The movement to protect Olive Ridleys began in the late 1980s when conservationists noticed a decline in the species due to poaching and habitat destruction. Determined to make a difference, volunteers started patrolling nesting beaches, rescuing hatchlings, and spreading awareness among coastal communities.

How They Protect the Turtles

Challenges in Conservation
