Imagine receiving a bouquet so beautiful it takes your breath away — and then discovering you can actually eat it. That’s the genius behind Baked Bouquets, the Mumbai-based venture by mother-daughter duo Rupal and Shreenal Badiani. With intricate floral designs crafted entirely from cupcakes, their edible bouquets are not just a treat for the eyes, but also a feast for the taste buds.
What started as a creative quarantine experiment soon bloomed into a full-fledged business, now winning hearts — and celebrity fans — across India.
It all began during the pandemic, when Shreenal, a marketing graduate, moved back home from the UK. With time on their hands and a shared love for baking and design, she and her mother Rupal — an experienced baker — began experimenting with cupcake art. Their goal was simple: create something unique that could combine the joy of gifting flowers with the indulgence of sweets.
Their first batch of cupcakes, shaped and iced like roses, was a hit with friends and family. Encouraged by the response, they launched Baked Bouquets — an online venture that offered handcrafted cupcake bouquets for birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, and special occasions. Each cupcake is piped with buttercream to resemble flowers like tulips, peonies, and roses, making them look almost too pretty to eat.
But it wasn’t long before word spread beyond their circle. Their artistry soon caught the attention of celebrities, including fashion icon Sonam Kapoor, who gave them a major shoutout on social media. From there, orders started pouring in — and so did media coverage.
What makes Baked Bouquets so special is the attention to detail. Each bouquet is custom-designed with edible flowers in a variety of color palettes, from soft pastels to vibrant hues. The cupcakes are available in flavors like Belgian chocolate, vanilla bean, lemon zest, red velvet, and more. And they aren’t just visually stunning — they taste just as good as they look.
But their creations go beyond cupcakes. Shreenal and Rupal have also added mini edible garden boxes, floral cupcake towers, and personalized cupcake messages to their repertoire. Every bouquet is delivered in aesthetic packaging, giving the customer a luxury experience from unboxing to the last bite.
Their unique concept fills a gap in India’s premium gifting market. In a culture where traditional gifts like flowers, sweets, and chocolates dominate, Baked Bouquets offers a refreshing and Instagram-worthy alternative. Whether it’s a romantic gesture, a corporate gift, or a festive surprise, their edible art pieces feel personal, creative, and indulgent all at once.
As orders grew, the duo scaled up their operations, now delivering across Mumbai and shipping to other major cities with specialized packaging. They’ve also trained a small team to help with piping, assembly, and delivery — though each design is still closely supervised (and often created) by Rupal and Shreenal themselves.
Sustainability is another key focus. Wherever possible, they avoid plastic and use recyclable materials. Their ingredients are sourced fresh, and preservatives are kept to a minimum to maintain the quality of the product.
Looking ahead, the mother-daughter team plans to expand into workshops and franchise models, giving others a chance to learn the art of edible floral design. They also hope to launch DIY kits so customers can try creating their own cupcake bouquets at home.
But for now, they’re simply enjoying the journey — one stunning, buttercream-piped petal at a time.
In a world filled with cookie-cutter gifts, Baked Bouquets reminds us that thoughtful, handcrafted surprises still have the power to make someone’s day — and maybe even go viral. Whether you’re celebrating love, friendship, or just life itself, these edible bouquets are the perfect way to say it with flowers… and frosting.
